Anna Botyk

Hello, my name is Anna Botyk. I am an abstract contemporary artist.

I was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 1994.

In 2022, I moved to Warsaw due to the war in Ukraine. There, I opened a new tattoo studio and a workshop, where I began painting. During this difficult period, I sought peace and a way to express my emotions. Many of my paintings were created in different emotional states.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My paintings are defined by an abstract, expressionist style. While I allow my intuition to guide the process, my work often revolves around specific themes. What is hidden inside me emerges through my paintings and drawings.

The images I create reflect my emotions, coming from deep within. These are techniques I developed independently over the years, shaped by my sensitivity.

I have a deep love for nature. I enjoy observing the flow of life in everything the planet offers. I believe nature is beautiful in all its forms – birth, life, and destruction. For me, abstraction represents color, texture, freedom, and wonder. Every brushstroke, every drop of paint is a reflection of my emotions – whether it’s passion, sadness, or my love for flowers blending together.

My work explores how places are stored in our memories and how emotions are tied to those memories. I am particularly fascinated by how art can capture these connections.

Today, my art can be found both on canvas and on skin.
